Partnerships
Being a partner is not only our name. It is our guiding principle.
The question of what makes an equitable, respectful partnership lies at the heart of everything we do. We build partnerships between children, between adults and between organisations.
We bring people together who are excited about possibility, maximising resources, growth and development and reducing inequality. It takes time, patience and a willingness to work through the sticky bits, but we know that it is worth it.
In Rwanda
APIE is a member of the Rwanda Education NGO Co-ordination Platform
We sit on several working groups, pilot new initiatives and serve as a model of best practice. APIE works closely with the Rwandan Ministry of Education and the University of Rwanda, College of Education to develop best practice in line with the Government’s aspiration to provide quality, inclusive education for all children in Rwanda.

With thanks to all our UK partners, interns and other supporters. With special thanks to Dr Jo Westbrook of Sussex University, Department of International Education, for her advice and guidance.
In the USA
We are extremely grateful to all our US funders, without whom we would not have come this far.
In 2015, the US Friends of APIE obtained 501 (c) (3) status, and in 2016 we launched the US Friends of APIE strategy. If you like to find out more, please see here or get in touch.
